A recent leaked image of the content of the PS4 box reveals that Sony was planning to include the PlayStation Camera and Knack with the console, but was presumably removed prior to E3 to reduce the price of the console. The image reveals that the Blu-ray copy of Knack, the PS Camera and a vertical stand for the PS4 would have been included with the console, but would have likely cost an extra $100 to include – bringing the console in-line with the price of the Xbox One.
Sony have released PS3 System Software v4.46, which replaces the buggy v4.45 and lets those with bricked consoles get up and running again. In addition to fixing firmware v.45, the update also adds the ability to hide trophy notifications – a feature that was also included in firmware 4.45.
The annual Gamelab conference got underway earlier this week in Barcelona, Spain, and today, PS4 system architect and Knack creator Mark Cerny will be holding a live talk in less than a hour. A fairly small update to the European PlayStation Store is now live, featuring seven new PS3 games and a new PS Vita title, including cross-buy title Hotline Miami. You can also find new DLC for both the PS3 and PS Vita, including Borderlands 2 DLC, Ratchet & Clank QForce add-on packs and more.
Sony has stated a PSOne Classics sale on the PlayStation Store this week, giving gamers a trip down memory lane as we approach the launch of the PS4. Over the next eight weeks, Sony will be taking gamers through the history of PlayStation, with the first two weeks focused on the original PlayStation.
Sony has confirmed that a demo for Gran Turismo 6 will launch next week on the PlayStation Network in North America and Europe. The demo will be available from 9:00 AM BST on Junly 2nd, 2013, and will let gamers try out the Silverstone track along with a number of GT Academy-style events. The demo will also let gamers enrol in Sony’s GT Academy program.
A number of new PSN games are available on the PlayStation Store this week, including Hotline Miami, which is cross-buy compatible with the PS Vita. You can also find new DLC content for the PS3 and PS Vita, and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward has been added to the Instant Game Collection.
At this year’s Gamescom convention, running between 21st to 25th August, in Cologne, Germany, Sony will focus on the PS4 and it’s games line-up. The company is planning to show off brand new games for the upcoming console, adding to the games already announced at the PlayStation Meeting 2013 and E3 2013.
Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward is coming to PlayStation Plus today in North America, making it the eighth game to be added to the Instant Game Collection in June 2013, along with XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and more.
