The rumor mill is staring to go into overdrive this month as both the next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles are likely to be revealed sometime this year. A number of sources are claiming to have details on the consoles, specifically what they will have under the hood.

If rumours from last night are true, Sony have begun shipping PlayStation 4 / Orbis development kits to development studios in North America. According to VG24/7, the Dev Kit is essentially a modified PC using components close to what the final PS4 will actually contain. A updated Dev Kit with near-final specs will ship in January.
4K is a resolution standard for several different resolutions in digital cinemas and computer graphics, roughly 4 times larger than 1080p HD resolution. Apparently, Sony is planning to launch its first 4K consumer device, the XBR LED TV as large at 80″ soon and there has been chatter that the PS4 will support this resolution.
Last night, there were rumours that the PlayStation Network was hacked for a second time, and 50GB of emails and passwords were leaked. However, Sony was quick to confirm that the claims “completely false” and that no user data was compromised.
According to sources, Irrational has been rumoured to scrap two multiplayer concepts from upcoming title BioShock Infinite, both centred on co-operative play. The company has been shaken up over the last few days after the departure of two senior team members, art director Nate Wells and director of product development Tim Gerritsen.
If the previous leaks weren’t enough, Reddit user NATHANDRAKE20984 has released a new photo of two new characters spotted in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. The screenshot clearly shows Crash Bandicoot and Tomba from the PlayStation era added to the roster list.
The official website for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has accidentally leaked information and screenshots of two new characters to the game’s line-up. The screens below show Sackboy and a “new” character, while a tab on the homepage shows a image of Cole vs. Raiden.
