Bungie has released a statistical infographic showing of some of the stats from the recent Destiny beta. The game has over 4.6 million players across all the platforms combined, who racked up over 3.7 billion kills. In addition, 853,235 concurrent players joined the game simulatenously at the beta’s busiest period. Check out more stats in the infographic below.
Although the Destiny beta was previously advertised as a pre-order incentive, Bungie has decided to open up the beta to all gamers with compatible consoles. The open beta is available to anyone with a PS4, PS3, Xbox One or Xbox 360, and will be available until the end of July 26th 2014. You have just over a day to download and play the game if you haven’t already.
Sony has revealed two game-themed PS4 consoles for the Japanese market: a Glacier White PS4 with simplistic Destiny branding, and a Jet Black PS4 with The Last of Us branding. It’s unclear if either of these console will be available in North America or Europe, but The Last of Us PS4 will be releasing in Japan on August 21st 2014, followed by the Destiny PS on September 11th 2014.
If you missed a go at the Destiny Alpha test, you’ll be happy to know that the timeline for the Destiny Beta test has been announced. The Destiny Beta will begin on July 17th 2014 until July 21st-22nd, when maintenance will take place. There will also be a rally on July 26th, where players who make an appearance will get rewarded.
Bungie has released the trophy list for Destiny in the form of an info graphic, showing the silverware that can be earned in the game. The game features a variation of trophies with a handful of trophies that require multi-player, but most of them can be earned via single-player. The info graphic doesn’t specify the type of trophy, but does include the logo that will appear in your trophy collection.
At Sony’s E3 Press conference last week, Adam Boyes announced that PlayStation owners would be get a ton of exclusive Destiny content. Today, that content has been detailed, and includes exclusive access to a unique co-up Strike located on Mars, and exclusive maps, gear, guns and ships.
Sony has opened up registration to access the Destiny Alpha build, which starts tomorrow and runs over the weekend. To get access, you need to sign-up here before the end of today (11:59PM PST). If you’re successful, you’ll receive a notification on your PS4 and an email with details on how to access the game.
During the Sony E3 Press Conference, an exclusive PS4 Destiny bundle was announced. Releasing on September 9th, a Limited Edition Glacier White PS4 will be available complete with a copy of Destiny on Blu-ray and a 30-day PlayStation Plus subscription.
Andrew House has just announced at the Sony E3 press conference that Destiny will be playable on the PS4 this Thursday. An alpha build of the game will be available for gamers to try out, with a proper beta scheduled for July 17th 2014.
Bungie has released new footage of upcoming game Destiny, this time showcasing co-op gameplay in the form of Strike mission. Strike is a cooperative scenario that sends a Fireteam on a dangerous mission to defeat hostile aliens and reap the rewards.
