Although the release date is still under wraps, online retailer Amazon has put the display up for pre-order. The display, together with MotorStorm Apocalypse, can be purchased for $499.99.

MotorStorm Apocalypse Updated

MotorStorm Apocalypse has received a massive update, adding lots of new features to the game. One of the biggest additions is the ability to create and share game modes and vehicles. Fire up your copy of MotorStorm and you will be prompted to update the game. Check out the complete list of changes below.

Photo
- MPO (Multi-Picture format) files for 3D photos and multi-angle photos can now be displayed under Photo and in [Photo Gallery].
PlayStation Network
- A feature has been added for sharing information about products in PlayStation Store with your Friends. By selecting [Recommend] on the detail page for a product, you can send a message introducing the product to your Friends.
Video
- TV/Video Services has been added as a category to the XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) Menu
- 3D playback* of Blu-ray Java™ (“BD-J”) content is now supported. You can now enjoy BD-J content recorded on Blu-ray 3D™ discs.
- DTS-HD audio output is now supported while playing Blu-ray 3D™ content
Settings
- Trophy information can now be synchronized with the server automatically on a regular basis. This feature is exclusive to PlayStation Plus members.
Assassin’s Creed Revelation Beta Opens On September 3rd 2011

PlayStation Plus will be getting access to the Assassin’s Creed Revelations Beta on September 3rd 2011. The beta will feature nine playable characters, all unlocked from the very start, and three maps, all also unlocked too. Read more details about the beta below.

PlayStation Network Scheduled Maintenance Tomorrow

PlayStation Network is offline for scheduled maintenance from 16:05 on Thursday 11 August 2011 until 02:00 on Friday 12 August 2011, BST. During the maintenance period, you won’t be able to connect to the PlayStation Network, however, if you sign-in before, you can continue to play online.
PS3 System Software Update (v3.70)

The PlayStation 3 is getting a new firmware update to make things easier for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Sony has added the option to automate two existing features on the PS3. The update also includes some minor changes to the PlayStation Store and enhancements to 3D Blu-ray playback on the console.
BBC iPlayer for PS3 Gets Makeover

BBC iPlayer on PS3 is to get a make over and will move from using the creaky PS3 web browser to a standalone app. The new app has been built from scratch with new features including viewer recommendations and a “vastly improved” search function. The UI is much slickers and easier to use and navigate.
Twisted Metal Delayed

We’ve got some bad news for fans of Twisted Metal. David Jaffe, Co-Founder of Eat Sleep Play, has revealed that Twisted Metal will miss the October release date that was first announced. The game will now be released in early 2012, but a exact release date has yet to be announced.Read More

Sony have started a new promotion on the PlayStation Network: PLAY. PLAY is a brand-new annual program, where you can get the season’s hottest PlayStation Network action titles. With every purchase of a PLAY title in PlayStation Store throughout the duration of the program (which ends on 20 September 2011), you’ll receive a separate piece of DLC for each game, plus a new theme with every pre-order.
