The SOCOM 4 PlayStation Plus beta can now be downloaded from the PlayStation Store. The beta runs from March 23rd to March 28th 2011, with each day offering something different. Check out the game schedule and match types for the beta below.
The SOCOM 4 Multiplayer Beta will roll out in four separate phases. It’ll begin with a small, private group and then expand weekly from there until it’s freely available to everyone! The date to look out for is April 5th 2011, when the beta goes public to all PS3 users on the PlayStation Store.
You maybe asking yourself what trophies are available in upcoming title SOCOM 4… Well, you won’t need to anymore since Zipper Interactive have revealed the complete trophy list for the title (except for the 16 hidden trophies, of course). SOCOM 4 is out in stores on April 19th 2011, but if you interested in the standard version then the Full Deployment Edition may be for you. Retailing at $149.99, the bundle is packed with all kinds of awesome. At the heart of this limited edition bundle is the PlayStation Move sharp shooter, giving you pinpoint precision and a streamlined and authentic design.
While players will have opportunities to be stealthy in nearly all of SOCOM: Special Forces‘ stages, select missions in the solo campaign will give users direct control of female South Korean 707th covert operations expert “Forty-Five.” Acting as the team’s primary form of reconnaissance, Forty-Five slinks into various locales under the cover of night to capture valuable intel and sabotage enemy operations.
SOCOM 4 is preparing to deploy to stores in North America in just a few months on April 19th. In the mean time, Zipper Interactive has also released a new video of the game, showing more multiplayer action from the title. The video, titled “Not For Self”, shows some of the game modes you can expect from the multiplayer side of the game.

Zipper’s Senior Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has confirmed that SOCOM 4 has been delayed until 2010. An post of the official SOCOM Blog details the Move-enabled squad-based shooter has been delayed to allow the developers to “deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game [they] possibly can.”
The PlayStation Move was recently shown off at an event in Seattle, and some interesting information about the SOCOM 4 was revealed. The title will be supporting the PlayStation Move controller and Zipper Interactive, as represented by Jill Webber, also confirmed that a beta will indeed be coming up for the game, although no specific date was given out for it.
Sony has announced a wireless attachment for the PlayStation Move called the Sub-controller. SOCOM 4 is to support both the Move and Sub-controller devices. A demonstration of the game showed aiming and shooting being handled by the Move unit, while the Sub-controller handled movement and other functions.
