Deck Nine have released a new trailer for upcoming title Life Is Strange: True Colors, titled “Welcome to Haven Springs”, which focuses on the game’s main setting. The two-minute trailer features character Steph Gingrich giving you a tour of the small town in Colorado, including a look at Main Street, some of the mini-games and characters you’ll come across.

New games have been added to the PlayStation Now streaming service, in the August 2021 update. The new games includes time-limited RPG Nier: Automata, which is available until November 2021; and Ghostrunner, which is a permanent addition to the service.

Early reports suggest that PlayStation’s highly-anticipated exclusive, Horizon Forbidden West, may be delayed to early 2022. The last we heard about the game was in May’s State of Play broadcast, with Guerilla Games saying that development was on track and a release date would be announced soon.

Sony has released PS4 Firmware 9.00 into closed beta testing today, while also revealing some of the features coming to the PS4. The biggest change in the support for PS5 trophies on the Profile Screen and Trophy List. Almost nine months since the PS5 was released, the PS4 is not able to show trophies unlocked on via PS5 games.

Sony has released the first PS5 beta firmware update, which will be a major update to the system software, adding a number of new features that were promised before launch. One of the major changes is opening up the M.2 SSD expansion slot, which was disabled at launch. Sony has published a specification on what M.2 SSDs will be supported.

Ember Labs has announced that Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been delayed again, but only by a month this time. The game was originally set to be a PS5 launch title, and was later delayed to Q1 of 2021 due to challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. A subsequent announcement in February delayed the game to August. This week’s announcement will now mean the game is releasing in September 2021.

Sony has released the initial specification of the M.2 SSD that are compatible with the PS5. Although Sony hasn’t released a list of officially supported drives, it has provided information on the supported specification, including physical size and capacity so you can narrow down your options. The PS5 will support up to 4TB M.2 SSDs with minimum of 5,500MB/s sequential read speed.

Sony has announced that the PS5 has sold over 10 million units worldwide, and continues to be the company’s fastest selling console. The console has sold another 2.2 million consoles since April 2021, when Sony announced sales of 7.8 million units, and this all while the console remains hard to find in stores and online.
