Sony’s PS4 was expected to launch in China on January 11th 2015, after a 14-year ban on foreign game consoles was lifted in September 2014. However, Sony has delayed the launch with just days to go, citing “various factors”.
The first PlayStation Store update for 2015 is live in North America, although its a small one. You can find a new PS3 game and two PS Vita games in this week’s update, in addition to January’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection.
Sony has announced the latest PS4 sales figures, which has surpassed 18.5 million units since launch, making the PS4 the fastest selling PlayStation hardware. A massive 4.1 million units were sold over the 2014 Holiday Period and New Years.
PlayStation Now is getting a subscription model starting January 13th 2015, giving you instant and unlimited access to 100 PS3 games. The service will offer two subscription plans: one month for $19.99, or a three-month package for $44.99.
According to the UK charts, FIFA 15 was the top selling game in 2014, at least in terms of physical sales. Unfortunately, there no accurate data for digital downloads due to the various available platforms, so popular games like Minecraft didn’t make the list.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare continues to top the UK Games Chart in 2015 after finishing late year on a high. The title has enjoyed six straight week on top of the chart, while last year’s other top titles also appear in the Top 10.
Sony has announced the Instant Game Collection line-up for Europe and North America for January 2015. This month, you can look forward to inFAMOUS First Light (PS4), DuckTales Remastered (PS3) and Duke Nukem 3D Megatron Edition (PS Vita).
Over the Christmas period, the PlayStation Network suffered a DDoS attack which took out the network for a number of days. The situation frustrated new PS4 owners and new ones alike, and to compensate everyone affect, Sony is extending PlayStation Subscriptions for everyone.
Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare continues to top the UK Games Chart, ending this year on a high. It no surprise that the top five games are all big franchises, but it’s good to see new IP in the top 10, with The Crew in 6th place and DRIVECLUB in 7th.
