According to a forum post on NeoGAF, PlayStation 3 system software 4.20 will be released tonight. The new features include tweaks to the wireless stereo headset options, time-off adjustments and the ability to copy multiple items of save data. Sony hasn’t mentioned anything yet so we’re classifying this as a rumor for now.
Journey is getting a Collector’s Edition of the game, that includes two other titles from thatgamecompany, the developers behind the title. The developers outlined the details for their first ever retail release, which will include Flow and Flower, among a number of other extras.
Capcom has announced the contents of the Resident Evil 6 Collector’s Edition. The announcement, on the Capcom Blog, indicates the collection is coming to Europe and is available to pre-order from today. The collector’s edition will only be available from select retailers, with the UK’s exclusive retailer still waiting confirmation.
Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5 is in the works and that it will be built using the Fox Engine. The developer told French magazine IG that the game is in development and will see the return of Solid Snake. At E3 2012, Kojima confirmed that the Fox engine runs on the PS3, Xbox 360 and current PCs.
The Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC, which was leaked a while ago, will be released in North America this week. However, the DLC won’t be available in Europe (or elsewhere outside North America) until next week – July 4th 2012 to be precise.
Final Fantasy VII fans will be happy to know that the game is making a comeback. It may not be the HD remake everyone is hoping for, but it’s still good news. A Square Enix-registered domain listed the PC version of game was available to download for £7.99 / €9.99. The site has since been taken down but Google cache still shows the contents of the site.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has been announced for the PS3 and PS Vita. The game is a thrilling new racing experience, featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and a fantastic cast of SEGA All-Stars. This iconic cast will be competing across land, air and water in vehicles that fully transform from cars, to planes to boats.
Sony has announced that the White PS3 is heading to Europe this morning. The new coloured console will be available in te UK from June 29th 2012, priced at £239.99. The white model will include a 320GB hard drive, two DualShock 3 controllers and 90 days of free PlayStation Plus access. However, GAME has exclusive rights to selling the console.
The second collection for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now available to purchase from the PlayStation Store. The DLC includes three new multiplayer maps (also usable in Survival mode), two Special Ops missions, and two Face Off maps. The collection can be downloaded for $14.99 on the Store.
Despite Sony cancelling the PlayStation Network maintenance on Wednesday, the network still went offline unexpectedly last night, leaving many gamers frustrated. It also interfered with our LittleBigPlanet Beta Give-Away last night too. It seems that only some users experienced the issues, and it looks like the issues are still there this morning.
