As promised last week in a short teaser trailer, Naughty Dog has released a new trailer for The Last of Us, alongside revealing the official release date for the game, pre-order content and the official boxart. The full trailer can be viewed below, while the game is scheduled for release on May 7th 2012.

Back at New York Comic Con, Dark Horse Comics and Naughty Dog announced The Last of Us: American Dreams. The Last of Us: American Dreams is a four issue comic book series that peels back the layers on the early days of Ellie as it dives into her backstory. It will expose her personality and the motivations that drive her as it explores the first steps of the journey that leads to becoming the character we ultimately meet in the game.

Sony revealed a new trailer for The Last Of Us at their Gamescom Press Conference last night in Cologne, Germany. The trailer shows some old footage, as well as some never-before seen footage from the title. Check out the new trailer below.
Naughty Dog recently spoke to GI.Biz regarding PS3 exclusive The Last of Us. In the interview, the game’s director Bruce Straley discussed the new AI routines in the game, describing it ‘dynamic stealth’. “We’re trying to emphasize the reality of the situation that Joel and Ellie are in. There are consequences to your actions,” Straley explained.
A new video of The Last of Us was revealed at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend, showing a cut-scene from the game. The video shows Joel and Ellie at a Safe House with a masked character, and features some strong language.
A dedicated LittleBigPlanet and The Last of Us fan has recreated the original “The Truck Ambush” trailer for The Last of Us. “I take the LittleBigPlanet 2 engine, once again, and remake the jaw-dropping and ground-breaking experience Naughty Dog is crafting for us called ‘The Last of Us’,” said YouTuber TheClassicEvil.
The Last of Us, currently being developed by Naughty Dog, will support multiplayer according to game director Neil Druckmann. Speaking to Gaming Examiner, Druckmann didn’t reveal details abou the multiplayer mode, but said there will be no “co-op within the main campaign.”
