So much for getting Final Fantasy VIII in Europe by end of January. The latest information from Mike Kebby over on the EU PlayStation.Blog is that the release date has been confirmed for February 4th 2010. Gamers in Europe will finally be able to replay the classic title on their PS3s and PSPgo in just a few week’s time.

Final Fantasy VIII Coming to Europe by End of January
The classic PSOne title, Final Fantasy VIII, will be available to download in Europe by the end of January. Mike Kebby over on the EU PlayStation.Blog has responded to various requests on a release date in stating that “FFVIII should be available by the end of Jan.” Kebby was also the one to suggest Final Fantasy VIII would be available in Europe by end of 2009. Lets hope its true this time.
Heavy Rain Release Date Announced
The release date for Heavy Rain has finally been confirmed for the US and Europe. The game is currently going through some final tests and checks, but is expected to be available in the US from February 23rd 2010, followed by mainland Europe from February 24th 2010 and finally the UK and Ireland from February 26th 2010.

MAG Dated for Europe
Zipper Interactive’s latest game, MAG, has been given a European release date The 256-player online-only shooter will be available in North America on January 26th and will hit European stores just three days later, on January 29th 2010. Q1 of 2010 is looking hot for Sony, with the release of Heavy Rain in February and God of War III, Gran Turismo 5 and Final Fantasy XIII in March.
Yakuza 3 Coming to West In 2010
Kevin, the Online Community Manager at SEGA Europe, has revealed that Sega’s Yakuza 3 is coming to the west in 2010. Europe and America will be getting the chance to take on the mantle of Kiryu Kazuma this time battling the Ryudo Ikka, and once again Yakuza will be an exclusive for the PlayStation 3. Yakuza 3 has already sold over half a million copies in Japan alone and whilst the wait has been long for the US, European and Australian, you won’t have to wait much longer – the game will be out March 2010.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Dated
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is now more solid than ever in Japan. Naked Snake’s latest PSP adventure has been given a release date in its country of origin. The latest Famitsu issue has announced the game’s release as set for March 18, 2010. As for the west, Konami has revealed that Peace Walker will be available in the UK on May 28th 2010. Unfortunately, there is no release date for North America yet. The US will be getting the title in May 2010.
God of War Collection Coming to Europe in 2010
As you may already know, the God of War Collection is now available in the US but has yet to see a European release. SCEE has now confirmed that the God of War Collection will be hitting Europe in 2010, but not in Q1. Europe has a long wait, but at lease this clears up any speculation regarding the European release. The actual date remains a secret for now, though.
PlayStation Store Launches in Europe Today
Weve just come home from the PlayStation Video Store launch party in London and were excited to reveal that the PlayStation Video Store launches on Europe later today. The Video Store will be available in the UK, France, Germany and Spain, with other countries to be added in the future. Later today, you will be able to find over 800 movies for rent and download, many of which will also be available in High-Definition. Movies can be rented from £2.49 or purchased from £6.99.
VidZone Expands to 11 New Countries
Over the coming weeks VidZone expands across Europe, allowing a further 11 countries to use the service. Starting from next Thursday, 26th November, VidZone will be released available to PS3 owners in Netherlands, Portugal and Austria. In December, 8 further countries will be added to the list – check out the release dates below. Unfortunately, still no word on when the service will be available in North America and elsewhere.
