Sucker Punch revealed the first details on inFAMOUS 2 UGC a couple of weeks ago at GDC. Well, lucky PlayStation Plus members will be getting access to the inFAMOUS 2 Limited Release UGC Beta exclusively to PlayStation Plus subscribers on 12th April 2011.
inFamous 2 will be getting a limited public beta in April to test the User Generated Content functionality of the game. Sucker Punch spent the last two years adding a User-Generated Content feature to the game, allowing players to build new missions, then share them with the world. Details about the beta will be announced on March 14th 2011.
A new trailer for inFamous 2 is now available to watch: the Karma Trailer. In inFamous 2, Cole will have new powers and will come across many crossroads. Ultimately it will be up to you to decide the path you want him to take. Take a look at the below and watch out for how Cole’s look changes when he’s good and evil, get a sneak peek of a new faction he has to face, and a small taste of Cole’s new ice powers…
Sucker Punch Productions has finally unveiled the boxart to PlayStation 3 exclusive title inFamous 2. inFamous 2 continues the saga of Cole MacGrath as he takes a dramatic journey down the coast to the Southern city of New Marais, where he faces a new, darker entity, known as “The Beast.”
In celebration of the upcoming release of inFAMOUS 2, Sucker Punch Productions and DC Comics have announced all-new chapters in the inFAMOUS storyline. Penned by William Harms and illustrated by artist Eric Nguyen, the series bridges the story between inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2 and chronicles Cole’s struggle to save Empire City before fleeing to the Southern city of New Marais.
The motion comic cutscenes from the first inFamous make a return in the sequel and this time they are far more prettier and enjoyable. Below we have one of the early cutscenes from the game titled “Welcome to New Marais”, which introduces Cole’s new playground. The cutscene was debuted at the Eurogamer Expo earlier this month.
For those of you that haven’t seen this already, check out the below brand-new gameplay footage of inFamous 2 that was first shown behind closed doors at gamescom and then last week at PAX in Seattle. You’ll get to see one of Cole’s brand new electrical powers – the Kinetic Pulse – with which he can now hurl enormous objects (i.e. cars!) around the environment.
Feast your eyes on a new inFamous 2 trailer straight from GamesCom 2010. It has all the things you could want: new looks of New Marais, monsters, running pedestrians, and an electrified Cole being in the center of it all (who by the way should look a little more familiar. Over the weekend at Comic-Con 2010, the first 2D cutscene from inFamous 2 was revealed. As you may know from the previous title, the comic cutscenes play an important part in the story telling process. As Edward Pun, Senior Artist, says, “It’s time consuming and a lot of hard work [to draw every frame] but, in the end, I hope InFAMOUS 2 will reflect our love for comic books and give fans the experience of being a super powered hero.”
