Square Enix has revealed the official box art for upcoming reboot of the legendary Tomb Raider game. The game is a brand new take on the original game of the same name, featuring a great and proper origin story according to developers Crystal Dynamics. The game is scheduled for release on March 5th 2013.
PS3 Firmware v4.30 adds PS Vita trophy support to the console, allowing gamers to see trophies unlocked on their PS Vita console on their PS3. Firmware v4.30 also marks the end of Life with PlayStation as a service, and will be terminated soon.
With only a week to go until the next instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft has released the official trailer for Assassin’s Creed III. The game moves away from Renaissance Italy to America before it’s Independence, introducing a host of new gameplay features and an all-new protagonist and story to go along with it.
The PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale beta goes public on the North American PlayStation Store this week, while new games including Medal of Honor Warfighter and Killzone HD are now available to download. The Unfinished Swan is also available to download, along with lots of DLC, themes, videos and other content.
SingStar, the ultimate competitive singing game for PlayStation 3, will now be available to everyone in SCE Europe territories (as well as Australia and New Zealand) as a free download straight from the XMB. A disc will no longer be required to play the game, instead, you just need to install SingStar from the XMB.
The God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta is coming to PlayStation Plus this winter. Plus subscribers will get exclusive access to the multiplayer mode ahead of the game’s release in March 2013. Sony has released a live action trailer for upcoming brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, featuring Drake, Cole, Kratos and Sackboy. Sadly, the trailer doesn’t feature any voice acting from any of the characters, which means the trailer is somewhat dull and lacking humor. No wise cracking comment from Drake, or even a peep from Kratos.
Irrational Games have released details of the Special Editions of Bioshock Infinite, scheduled to be released in March 2013. Two special editions of the game will be available: the Ultimate Songbird Edition and the Premium Edition, both of which are now available to pre-order.
The PS3’s system software and security features have been blown wide open after publication of the console’s LV0 decryption keys. The LV0 keys allow access to the lowest level of the system, known as “root” access, giving hackers access to every system function, including creating custom firmwares that allow PSN access.
God of War: Ascension will see multiplayer introduced to the series for the very first time, bringing the intense action and brutal combat to solo and team based game modes. Sony has released the “Zeus” trailer, who is one of the four gods your online avatar is able to align with.
