Sony and Panasonic have announced that they’re working on a new optical disc with the capacity to hold a minimum of 300 gigabytes of content. The work on the new format is expected to be completed before the end of 2015, and will be the successor to the Blu-ray disc, which has a maximum capacity of 50GB in dual-layer format.
Dragon’s Crown Confirmed for European Release in Autumn

North America will be getting Atlus and Vanillaware’s Dragon’s Crown on the PS Vita and PS3 as early as August 6th 2013, but a European release of the game wasn’t confirmed until this week. NIS America has confirmed that Dragon’s Crown will be coming to the UK and Europe, but doesn’t have a release date as of yet.
New GTA V Screenshots Released

Rockstar Games has released a dozen new screenshots focusing on many of the different facets of life in Grand Theft Auto V. The new screens show that gamers can expect to fly military choppers and private jets, and drive super cars or even an ATV in your underwear. The screens look amazing, and show just how expansive the game will be when it releases in September.
New PS4 Details Emerge from Q&A Video

Once again, PlayStation Access have created a useful Q&A video answering 10 questions about the upcoming console, revealing some new information about the PS4. The video reveals new details on some of the PS4’s features, like party chat and increased friends list. It also clarifies some older points, like DualShock 3 support and PlayStation Move compatibility, and 3D games.
The Last of Us Finally Loses Top Spot in UK Games Chart

After dominating the UK Games Chart for six weeks in a row since launch, Naughty Dog’s PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us, has finally dropped down the chart to third place. The Last of Us has dropped down to third place this week, making way for Minecraft on the Xbox 360 and Pikmin 3 on the Wii U, which are now in first and second place, respectively.
Sony Clarify that 5GB of RAM Available for PS4 Games

The PS4 will have 8GB of RAM to use on the system, but Sony has clarified that only 5GB of this will be available to developers to use with games. Of the 5GB available, 4.5GB will be “Direct Memory” and 512MB will be “Flexible Memory”, managed by the PS4 OS on the game’s behalf, but 100% available to the game.
System Software Ver. 4.46

The changelog for PS3 Firmware 4.46 has been revealed, confirming the minor nature of the update. The new update added an option to hide trophy notications, and also fixes a bug with the XMB not displaying after system updates.
Gran Turismo Movie Confirmed to be in Development

The BBC reports that a film based on the Gran Turismo franchise is in development by Sony, with The Social Network and Fifty Shades of Grey producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti having been linked to the project. According to the article, Sony says the film is in development, but cannot provide “any further details about the movie or when it would be made.”
Sony’s Gamescom Press Conference Dated

Sony has confirmed their presence at Gamescom next month in Cologne, Germany, by revealing the date and time for their Press Conference. Sony’s press conference will take place a day before the the event, on August 20th 2013 at 7pm CET / 6pm BST. The conference will take place at the Staatenhaus am Rheinpark in Cologne, and is expected to be live-streamed.
