Turned on your PlayStation 3 recently? Sony has released a new firmware update for the console, bringing the system software to version v3.41. This mandatory update adds a Recommendation section to the PlayStation Store for both videos and games.
Episode 17 of FirstPlay will be going live on the Store from Wednesday, and this week you will find a fantastically sharp HD preview of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Alongside that there is also got a feature on 3D on PS3, including an interview with Sony UK boss Ray Maguire, a reviews round-up including Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Toy Story 3.

The full trailer is a whopping 5 and a half minutes long, entitled “Who Do You Trust?”. In DC Universe Online, you’ll be able to team up with legendary DC heroes like Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern or pledge allegiance to the Joker, Lex Luthor, and other classic villains to determine the fate of the DC Universe.
A new multiplayer trailer of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was shown at Comic Com 2010. In AC: Brotherhood, you’ll see the return of Ezio and the continuing struggles of the Assassins vs the Templars. Expect almost everyone that you met in ACII (but didn’t kill ) to return, albeit through deepened relationships.
Over the weekend at Comic-Con 2010, the first 2D cutscene from inFamous 2 was revealed. As you may know from the previous title, the comic cutscenes play an important part in the story telling process. As Edward Pun, Senior Artist, says, “It’s time consuming and a lot of hard work [to draw every frame] but, in the end, I hope InFAMOUS 2 will reflect our love for comic books and give fans the experience of being a super powered hero.”
Sony and Media Molecule have announced the official release date for the sackboy sequel, LittleBigPlanet 2. In addition, pre-ordering the game from selected retailers will give gamers exclusive costumes to enjoy in-game. Selected retailers include Amazon, BestBuy, GameStop and more.
Since MAG was released back in January, Zipper Interactive have made many improvements to the game. The latest improvement, and something requested by games, was the ability to play on any map in the game. All the maps in the “Sabotage” game mode are now faction neutral, meaning any faction can play on a map, even if its owned by another faction.

Currently, Netflix users require a disc in order to stream TV shows to the PlayStation 3. Over the next few months, Netflix has confirmed that a disc-free solution will be rolled out similar to the Hulu Plus application. The Netflix application will allow dynamic updating of the Netflix library on the PS3 as well as providing bug fixes via patches.
