Square-Enix has announced the third instalment in the Final Fantasy XIII series, Lightning Returns, continuing Lightning’s saga. The game will have a brand new story set in a new world, with new characters and an enhanced gameplay system. Lightning will be the only playable character.
A new trailer for The Unfinished Swan has been released from PAX 2012 over the weekend. The new trailer details the story of the game, and introduces the King, who created the entire world that players will be exploring in the game.
Following the reveal of Nariko and Sir Daniel Fortesque to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale last week, two new character trailers have been released showing the two new characters in action. The two characters from Heavenly Sword and MediEvil, respectively, were officially revealed at PAX 2012.
At PAX 2012, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima showed off 11 minutes of gameplay footage from his upcoming PS3 game Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. “We’re not going to say that it’s Metal Gear Solid 5,” Kojima said after the demo, “but it is a prologue.” Kojima explained that the demo video was a recording of gameplay rendered on PC hardware that was similarly equipped to a PS3, and that the final game should closely resemble the video.
Earlier in the week at the MGS 25th anniversary event, Hideo Kojima and Avi Arad revealed that a Metal Gear Solid movie is in the works, and will be produced by Columbia Pictures. The Metal Gear games have long been acclaimed for their cinematic qualities, and the movie will be true to the franchise, according to Arad.
Capcom has released a video to show off Lost Planet 3, with fifteen minutes of footage. The video begins with the game’s most recent trailer and follows onto a gameplay demonstration hosted by Andrew Szymanski and played by Kenji Oguro.
Gearbox Software and 2K Games have today released a brand new, 7 minute long, trailer for upcoming title, Borderlands 2, showing some of the aspects of the world of Pandora gamers can look forward. The trailer is titled “An Introduction by Sir Hammerlock”.
SCEE has revealed the release date to God of War: Ascension for PAL regions, and details about the game’s Special and Collector’s editions. The special editions will both include a steelbook game case, the official soundtrack, dynamic theme and avatar packs.
