  • Using the PSP® system’s [Internet Browser] feature, game demos can now be downloaded and saved on Memory Stick™ media.
  • Video can now be displayed correctly when an external tuner is selected in [LocationFree™ Player].
    Affects LocationFree™ base station (a Sony product sold separately) model numbers LF-B1 (sold in North America/Taiwan/Korea) and LF-X11 (sold in North America). (Refer to the instruction manual for your LocationFree™ base station to locate the model number.) The issue that has been addressed does not affect LocationFree™ base stations sold in Japan or Europe.

  • Macromedia® Flash® content can now be displayed in [Internet Browser].
    You must perform an activation procedure under [System Settings] to enable Flash® content to be displayed.
    The system supports Macromedia® Flash® Player 6; however, some features are not supported.
  • [Connection Settings] has been added as a setting under [Settings] in [Internet Browser] > [Tools].
  • Audio content from [RSS Channel] can now be saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media.

  • A new file extension has been added to playable AAC formats.

  • [UMD™Video L/R Button] has been added as an option under [Video Settings].

Other

  • Certain conditions that have occurred when using Memory Stick PRO Duo™ with free (recordable) memory space of 2 GB or more are now solved.

  • [Volume Adjustment] has been added as an option in the [LocationFree Player] control panel.

  • Copyright-protected video data provided by a content provider or other services can now be downloaded directly to a Memory Stick Duo™ using the [Internet Browser].

  • Music data in WMA (Windows Media® Audio) format can now be played under [Music]. (This applies to music saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media.)
    • WMA9 Professional, WMA9 Lossless and copyright-protected WMA files are not supported.
    • Note that you must activate the [Enable WMA Playback] setting to play music data in WMA format.

  • [Enable WMA Playback] has been added as a setting under [System Settings].
    • A connection to the Internet is required for the one-time activation of this setting. Note that no personal information is collected during the activation process. For details, refer to the user agreement that must be accepted as part of the activation process.

  • MP4 (the audio codec for MP4 format audio files is MPEG-4 AAC) and WAV (Linear PCM) have been added as playable file formats (for music saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media).

  • Wallpaper feature has been added.
  • Image transfer feature has been added.
  • TIFF, GIF, PNG and BMP have been added as viewable file formats.
