FAQs
What are the Dimensions of the PS4?
The PS4 is 275 mm × 53 mm × 305 mm (width × height × length) in size, making it slightly smaller than the PS3 Slim and slightly larger than the PS3 Super Slim. The console will weigh approximately 2.8 kg.
The PS4 Pro is 295mm × 55 mm × 327 mm (width × height × length) in size, and weighs 3.3kg due to its larger size.
The PS4 “Slim”, released in September 2016 is smaller than the original PS4. It’s 265 mm × 39 mm × 288 mm (width × height × length) in size. It is 2.1kg in weight – that’s 700g lighter than the original PS4.
What Comes in the PS4 Box?
Included in the box will be the PS4 console itself, a DualShock 4 controller, a mono headset, power cord, HDMI cable and USB charging cable for the controller. The bundled mono headset plugs into the minijack & extension port on the bottom of the DualShock 4.
What Ports Can I Find on the PS4?
The console will have 2x USB 3.0 ports at the front of the console, and a AUX port on the back. The latter will be used by the PlayStation Camera. The PS4 drops the old component / AV port found on the PS3. So you’ll only be able to use the HDMI port which will have HDCP to block external recorders from capturing footage from the console.
Can I Upgrade the PS4’s Hard Drive?
Yes. The PS4 comes with a 500 GB hard drive, but can be upgraded if needed. Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida confirms that the console’s hard drive will be upgradable like the PS3s.
