Firmware 3.15 which came out in early December 2009 is now mandatory to install. The firmware is needed for many new and upcoming titles, though most of you probably already have it installed. If you have already installed the latest update, this new does not affect you. Gamers who haven’t updated will be prompted to download it when they boot up their PS3.

MAG Dated for Europe

Zipper Interactive’s latest game, MAG, has been given a European release date The 256-player online-only shooter will be available in North America on January 26th and will hit European stores just three days later, on January 29th 2010. Q1 of 2010 is looking hot for Sony, with the release of Heavy Rain in February and God of War III, Gran Turismo 5 and Final Fantasy XIII in March.
SCEE Christmas PlayStation Store Update

If you know your way around a calendar, you will be aware that Christmas falls on a Friday this year. And like most people, SCEE will be probably be getting hammered at the pub on Thrusday 24th December. As a result, the PlayStation Store will be updated earlier than usual that week, on Tuesday 22nd December 2009. In addition, there will be no update the following week as New Year’s Eve also falls on a Thursday.
Pro Evo Soccer 2010 To Get Free Downloadable Content

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 has only just been released and already there are talks of downloadable content. The PES Production team posted an article on the Konami Blog stating, “We’ll be adding downloadable updates and content shortly – free of charge of course – so watch out for those.” There was no mention of what kinds of downloadable content would be release so we’ll leaving the speculation to you.
Modern Warfare 2 Co-Op Campaign Scrapped

Infinity Ward has scrapped the co-op support for Modern Warfare 2’s main campaign mode, claiming it “really broke” the game’s cinematic experience. Speaking to VG247, communications head Robert Bowling commented, “We did it early on; that’s what Spec Ops started out as, as co-op through story.” As a result, the original co-op mode formed the nucleus of what would later become the Spec Ops feature, allowing players to tackle a number of segments from the main campaign which proved suitable for a two-player experience.
Crash Commando Patch Incoming

A patch for Crash Command will be available soon. The patch fixes a couple of things introduced into the game since the last build and adds in some Rumble support. Apart from several bug fixes, nothing new has been added to the game expect for Rumble Support, which to be honest, should have already been included in the game.
