Early reports suggest that PlayStation’s highly-anticipated exclusive, Horizon Forbidden West, may be delayed to early 2022. The last we heard about the game was in May’s State of Play broadcast, with Guerilla Games saying that development was on track and a release date would be announced soon.
A report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier suggests that the game has been delayed to the first quarter of 2022, according to a person familiar with the matter. While Sony has not officially confirmed the delay, other reports suggest that an announcement is due in September, where we will know for sure.
Horizon Forbidden West was expected to release in late 2021, but without a confirmed release date, this may not happen. A number of games have been delayed this year across the industry due to challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, including the God of War sequel and Gran Turismo 7 both delayed to 2022.
