Journey is getting a Collector’s Edition of the game, that includes two other titles from thatgamecompany, the developers behind the title. The developers outlined the details for their first ever retail release, which will include Flow and Flower, among a number of other extras.
Besides Journey, the Collector’s Edition will contain:
Journey – Collector’s Edition Box Art (Not Final)
- 30-minute behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Journey
- Creator Commentary play-throughs of all three games
- Three exclusive mini-games from thatgamecompany: Gravediggers, Duke War!!, and Nostril Shot
- Concept art and screenshot galleries for all three games
- Original soundtracks for all three games
- PS3 dynamic themes and wallpapers
- PSN avatars including 8 exclusive new Journey avatars never released before
- Official game trailers and developer diary videos
- Reversible cover art
“We are particularly excited about the Creator Commentary play-throughs of all three games,” said a spokesperson for the company, “because we get to share with players insights about flOw, Flower, and Journey straight from the minds of the designers, artists, engineers and composers who worked together to make these games so special.”
The Collector’s Edition will be available to purchase from August 28th 2012 for $29.99 in North America.
Update: It appears that the collection won’t be released in Europe. Europeans will have to import the North American version if they want the collection.
