Sony have announced that PlayStation Plus members will be getting new free titles starting tomorrow (in North America at least). The new titles include inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Saints Row 2 – a total of 12 new titles will be available to download for free.
LittleBigPlanet 2 will be getting a patch this week, bringing the game to version v1.12. The patch will introduce a few tweaks to the game to address user feedback, including removal of negative feedback from the Level Rating System. Check out the changelog below.
A new LittleBigPlanet 2 patch is now available for download by booting up the game. Patch version v1.06 weighs in at a hefty 567.07 MB, and includes PlayStation Move support and a number of tweaks to the game. A full list of changes can be found below.
Congratulations are in order for everyone who has played LittleBigPlanet 2. Thanks to all of you, MediaMolecule has recently hit a very cool milestone – more than four million LittleBigPlanet levels have now been shared by players around the world.
LittleBigPlanet 2 hits shelves next week, exclusive to the PlayStation 3. The first set of reviews have been released this week along with a brand new trailer of the game. With exactly a month to go, LittleBigPlanet 2 has gone ‘gold’, meaning development on the game is 100% finished. The game will be released on Wednesday 19th January 2011 across Europe, Thursday 20th January in Australia and New Zealand, and Friday 21st January in the UK and Ireland.
PlayStation Plus subscribers have a early Christmas present coming early next month – the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta trial. MediaMolecule will be expanding the LBP 2 beta with a new batch of beta trial invites will be sent out, though the exact date is yet to be confirmed.
LittleBigPlanet 2 isn’t too far away now so you can expect plenty of new trailers popping up over the coming weeks. In the mean time, Sony has unveiled not only the official packshot for Europe and other PAL countries, but a Collector’s Edition has also been revealed.
The loveable Sackbots are AI-controlled Sack-people that populate the levels of LittleBigPlanet 2‘s Story Mode. But it’s in Create Mode that they really come into their own. Shape, resize and style them, and then bring them to life by choosing their behaviour patterns, recording actions and even dialogue. Friends or foes, robots or zombies… Sackbots can be whatever you need them to be, and this featurette gives you a little taste of the possibilities.
Here in the UK, the LittleBigPlanet 2 online beta has already started and some amazing user-created levels are popping up around the web.
