Just before E3, Sony announced the new Pulse wireless stereo headset – Elite Edition for the PS3 – an advanced version of the original headset targeted towards hardcore gamers. The PlayStation Wireless Stereo Headset is now available at retailers in North America. The headset was first announced back in May and features virtual 7.1 surround sound. The headset retails for $99.99 (MRSP) and gives you an audio advantage and high-quality Bluetooth voice quality (with a retractable microphone) at a seriously affordable price point.

The official Bluetooth headset for the PlayStation 3 was first announced during SOCOM Media Day. The headset is already available, but not as a standalone accessory – until today. The headset was originally bundled with SOCOM: Confrontation but from today you can purchase it as a standalone accessory for use with compatible games, including Resistance, LittleBigPlanet and Warhawk. The headset is available for $49.99 (approx £27).
