Lets face it… FirstPlay didn’t really work out for Sony and Future Publishing, who also run the Official PlayStation Magazine. After the first month of subscribing, even I canceled and moved on to other resources for my gaming fix. But its not over – Future Publishing has announced a new joint venture for a video show with Sony.
Episode 54 of FirstPlay is now on the store, featuring a review of Operation Flashpoint: Red River, and previews of two of our most anticipated games of the year: Batman Arkham City, and Battlefield 3.
This week on FirstPlay, you can find an exclusive behind the scenes look at Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine all the way from Relic Entertainment‘s studios in Vancouver. You can also find a look at the Tomb Raider Trilogy HD and WWE All Stars.
FirstPlay Episode 52 goes on sale this week, marking the 1st anniversary since the launch of the interactive magazine. It’s surprising that FirstPlay has lasted a year – over the last 52 episodes, not a lot has changed especially when compared to Qore. What ever happened to all that free content they promised? We’ve only seen a few Minis and free avatars.
FirstPlay hits episode #51 this Wednesday, featuring HD reviews of Crysis 2 and Shift 2: Unleashed. You can also find a preview of Duke Nukem Forever and a round-up of recent PS3 releases including Top Spin 4 and Two Worlds 2.
In this week’s episode of FirstPlay, you can find a look at the latest game from Team Ico, The Last Guardian, including an interview with chief creative director Fumito Ueda. Episode 48 will be on the Store from this Wednesday, and apart from the awesome Last Guardian it also includes a preview of PlayStation Move title No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise.
Episode 47 of FirstPlay hits the PlayStation Store this week with a look at new co-op title Operation Flashpoint: Red River, and a review of Warrior: Legends Of Troy. Episode 45 is now on the PlayStation Store and features an exclusive try before you buy trial of the fantastically playable arcade scrapper TNT Racers. Episode 45 also features reviews of Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds and Trinity: Souls Of Zill O’ll.
Episode 44 of FirstPlay hits the UK PlayStation Store tomorrow and is packed with lots of HD videos for you to enjoy over the week. You can find yet more Swords & Soldiers-themed PSN avatars in this week’s episode, this time in the shape of the Aztec Ruler and Jaguar Warrior. Episode 33 also includes blockbuster previews of Killzone 3 and Red Faction: Armageddon.
