Sony has released the first PS5 beta firmware update, which will be a major update to the system software, adding a number of new features that were promised before launch. Although Sony hasn’t released a list of officially supported drives, it has provided information on the supported specification, including physical size and capacity so you can narrow down your options. The PS5 will support up to 4TB M.2 SSDs with minimum of 5,500MB/s sequential read speed.
