Yesterday marked 20 years since the original PlayStation was released in North America. The PlayStation came to North America nine months after it was released in Japan (released on December 3, 1994), and at the time it was a stylish, powerful, developer-friendly game console that popularized polygonal 3D graphics and CD playback of games and music.

Sony has detailed how gamers can get their hands on the very limited 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 this week in the UK. Between Monday, 15th December and Friday, 19th December, Sony and GAME will be tweeting clues that will give you the change to purchase the £399 console from GAME’s website.

The PS4 Anniversary Edition will be limited to just 12,300 units worldwide, and will come in the same ‘Original Grey’ finish as the original PlayStation, packaged in a commemorative box and priced at €499.
