According to the latest NPD figures, the PlayStation 3 has now sold approximately 11,761,000 units in the US till the end of February. The Xbox 360, on the otherhand, has broken the 19 million mark with approximately 19,383,900 units sold. At the end of last April, the Xbox 360 had double the install base of the PS3, with 14.9 million 360s and only 7.5 million PS3s in the NPD.

The God of War III soundtrack, Blood & Metal, was supposed to be exclusive to the Ultimate Edition of the game, but it actually available to download for free from the God of War website (be quick, download links below). In addition, the complete God of War Trilogy soundtrack can also be downloaded for free. Is this a bug on the website or a reward for dedicated God of War fans?

Mahjong Solitaire will be available to download from the PlayStation Store in Spring 2010 in North America for only $2.99. ??Mahjong Solitaire is the same, classic mahjong tile matching game which has enchanted players for decades. Players remove matching pairs of tiles from an organized layering of tiles, trying to remove as many tiles as possible as fast as they can.
Now that Final Fantasy XIII has been out for a few weeks now, it was just a matter of time before a comparison video between the Xbox 360 version and PS3 version of the game would appear. We’ve found a short little video detailing the differences between the loading times for the two versions. The Xbox 360 version of the game is on three DVD discs, while the PS3 version is on a single dual-layer Blu-ray disc.
HD gaming is a essential part of the gaming experience on the PlayStation 3. Without a HDTV and HDMI cable connected to your PS3, you simply cannot make the most of the high-definition graphics in games like God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII or Heavy Rain. Jack Tretton, SEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, recently appeared on GTTV to talk about the PlayStation and E3 2010. One of the questions that came up was related to PSN subscriptions. According to Tretton, Sony will only charge for the PSN if they “can come up with a compelling experience that will warrant an investment from consumers.”

The PlayStation Move has been slated for a Fall 2010 release and the first advert has been released to spread the word. The first advert (which you can see below) makes fun of the Nintendo Wiimote for having basic motion sensing capabilities and also Microsoft’s Natal for lack of buttons. In Kevin Butler’s own words, “Who wants to pretend their hand is a gun? What is this? 3rd grade?”

Square Enix Europe have revealed that Final Fantasy XIII has become the fastest selling title in the franchise’s history in the UK and also the fastest selling UK game of 2010 so far and topping Battefield: Bad Company in the charts. Last week, Square Enix revealed that the game had sold over 5 million units worldwide.
