PlayTV is set to get a massive update before the end of the year, as mentioned by Andy House at gamescom last week. The update will be available to all existing and new customers later in the year, and will include enhanced social features, better programme guide and more. This week on the US and Canadian Video Store you can rent The Disappearance of Alice Creed in HD and SD on your PS3 — while it’s still in theaters — and watch it from the comfort of your own home. This week on the PSP Comic Store you can find Street Code, a tale of a native New York bruiser, fed up with living in the dregs of a drug-addled Alphabet City. Issue one is now available on your PSP and it’s FREE, so check it out. Elsewhere, the stunning Brubaker/Epting Captain America saga continues with “The Man Who Bought America”, where the Red Skull makes an unexpected move for the very soul of America.
Sony Online Entertainment revealed a new trailer for their upcoming PS3 MMO, DC Universe Online. The trailer (found below) reveals some of the over-the-top combat, as well as the powers and movement sets that players can choose from in making themselves the next great legend in the DC Universe – either as its savior or its destroyer.
With the success of Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, Insomniac Games have announced the third title in the series. Insomniac Games announced the third title at the PlayStation press conference at gamescom earlier this week in Cologne, Germany. While not a lot of detail was given away, they did reveal a live-action trailer (see below).
