The PlayStation Network will be going offline this Thursday evening (if you’re in Europe) for some scheduled maintenance. The maintenance will be begin on Thuesday, 22nd August from 8PM UK time (or 12PM PST) and last for approximately six and a half hours, ending at 2:30AM BST.
With Sony’s Gamescom Press Conference less than three hours away, it’s time to think about how you’re planning to live-stream the event. Luckily, you can watch the press conference live right here from 6:00PM GMT or from within PlayStation Home. You can also stream the event from Sony’s Gamescom microsite.
Square Enix & Eidos have revealed a flurry of new information regarding their Thief reboot, including a launch date, box art for all versions of the game, and a brand new Gamescom trailer titled “Uprising”. The game will be releasing on current and next-gen consoles on February 25th 2014 in North America, and Feb. 28th 2014 in Europe.
Sony has managed to do a good job in staggering all it’s major announcements over the the last several month, revealing information about the PS4 in stages, and Gamescom is no different. According to Sony’s Gamescom article, the company will be revealing “release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.,” which means a proper release date for the upcoming console.
NIS America has confirmed that side-scrolling beat ’em up, Dragon’s Crown, will be released in Europe this October for the PS3 and PS Vita. According to a press release sent out by the publisher, the game will be arriving in Europe and the UK on October 11th 2013, and Amazon’s listing has been updated to reflect this.
Rockstar has revealed the first gameplay video for Grand Theft Auto Online, which is the online component for Grand Theft Auto V. GTA Online is a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players that begins by sharing gameplay features, geography and mechanics with the main game.
The Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer component was revealed yesterday at a hour-long event, presented by Xbox. The game will be releasing in November on both current and next-gen platforms, including the PS3 and PS4. In addition to the multiplayer mode, two Collector’s Edition were also unveiled.
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store this week, including a number of new PS3 games and playable demos to enjoy. New PlayStation Plus discounts are available too, and PS Vita title Killzone Mercenary is now available to pre-order. You can also find new DLC for the PS3 and Vita.
