The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be getting patched this week with a number of bug fixes and enhancements to the game. The changes with were announced as part of the PC update last month will be available to download on May 11th for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Activision has confirmed that a second downloadable pack for Modern Warfare 2 will be coming later this year. The second Map Pack is currently in development by the game’s developer Infinity Ward. Chief Operating Officer for Activision, Thomas Tippl, announced the development of the new DLC, but no specific details were given.
ModNation Racers is only a few weeks away from release – the game is set for release on May 21th in Europe and North America on May 25th 2010. The June 2010 issue of Game Informer has revealed information about LittleBigPlanet 2, despite Sony denying the original rumors. According to the article, LBP2 has less of a focus on platforming and it’s more of a platform to actually create games with. The game will feature a all-new level creator and extra customization options.
Sony’s PlayStation Move will be available to purchase this Autumn, but for how much? Sony originally announced that the motion controller and PlayStation Eye combo would cost less than $100. According to The Sun newspaper in the UK, the PlayStation Move controllers will cost £45 (approx $66 / €52).
Sega has announced that Obsidians’s espionage RPG Alpha Protocol has gone gold and is headed off to manufacturing. The game is schedules for release on June 1 in North America and in Europe on May 28th. A preview of Alpha Protocol was included in FirstPlay Episode 004.
Now that the digital re-release of Final Fantasy IX is complete, Square Enix has officially announced the release date for Japan. According to a tweet from Square Enix Producer Shinji Hashimoto, the PSone classic will be out to download from the Japanese PlayStation Store on May 20th 2010.
The next iteration in the Assasin’s Creed series has been revealed. Ubisoft has confirmed the next title will be called Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, after someone leaked the game cover over the Internet. The new titles follows Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order.
Since the release of Firmware 3.30, Dragon Age: Origins has been experiencing freezing issues and crashes. BioWare is aware of the issues and is currently working on a patch to fix the problems. The patch is currently in testing to ensure the issues are indeed fixed. It may still take a few weeks before the patch is publicly released.
Qore subscribers and selected gamers in Europe were recently given the change to download the ModNation Racers PSP demo early. If you missed out, you can download the same demo from next week when the demo finally goes public. The full game will be available to purchase on May 25th 2010, but you can get a little taster of the action before then.
