Over the past few months, lots of new information about the PlayStation Vita has been revealed. For example, earlier today, SCEE revealed the PSVita’s official box design and information on the launch applications. Below, we have included a summary of other useful information about the upcoming portable console.
SCEE have today revealed the final box design for both the PS Vita Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi & 3G models which were first unveiled at Tokyo Game Show. In addition, SCEE have also revealed the app icons, features and services that come pre-installed on PS Vita at launch.
A super short video has surfaced of a PlayStation Vita showing Killzone 3 gameplay using Remote Play. Although the video was recorded using a shaky camera, the quality is pretty decent. We’ve filed this under rumor for now since we cannot confirm the authenticity of the video.
Check out some new gameplay footage of Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the PlayStation Vita. John Garvin, writer and director of the title, runs through two of the levels that were featured this week at the Tokyo Game Show. The video shows of some of the unique features of the game include the machette, balance beam controls and more.

As part of Sony’s press conference at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this morning, Sony have issued a press release detailing the PlayStation Vita complete tech specs, launch line-up and pricing details. First up, there are 26 games available at launch, with more than 74 currently in development.
Great news for fans of Final Fantasy X. Square Enix has just announced that Final Fantasy X will be getting an HD re-release in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary. Personally, I rather see a remake of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII for the PS3 and PlayStation Vita in HD, but this is good news nonetheless.
Sony has announced that the PlayStation Vita will launch on December 17th in Japan. Unfortunately, the release date for North America and Europe is still unknown, but lets home it isn’t too far off the Japanese release. The European release of the new portable console is already looking like its going to be in Early 2012.
Sony has confirmed that their press conference at the 2011 Tokyo Games Show will be held on September 14th 2011, but a time has yet to be confirmed. Sony’s keynote speech will be a day after that of Nintendo’s, and its expected that the PlayStation Vita will headline the event.
