Sony has revealed that God of War Laufey will not make its planned February 2027 arrival, with the game now set to debut in May 2027. God of War: Laufey centers on Kratos’s wife, Faye, as she wakes up in an unfamiliar realm following her funeral. There, Faye realizes that the safeguards she established to protect Kratos and Atreus are under threat.
The game was originally scheduled to launch on 16th February 2027, giving eager fans an official date to look forward to. However, the development team ultimately postponed the title, confirming the delay in an official statement posted on X:
God of War Laufey will release exclusively for the PS5, and pre-orders began on 29th September 2026. The game is now scheduled to launch on 20th May 2027.
