World of Warcraft Class Tier List for Mythic+ in 2025 – The Ultimate Guide

October 22nd, 2025 / XPH / Impressions
0

Mythic+ dungeons have become one of World of Warcraft’s most competitive and rewarding endgame activities. With the highest scaled difficulty and changing affixes, it can be pretty hard to find what makes a build good against Mythic+.

Add to everything else that the devs bring class changes every so often, making some worse or better for this difficulty depending on what these changes are. Some specs have risen to dominance thanks to powerful utility, while others have slipped despite strong raw damage. This tier list will break down the best DPS, tank, and healer classes for Mythic+ in 2025, explaining why they perform at their current tier and how they fit into different team compositions.

Having the right classes picked out is one surefire way of helping out the team, but that’s not the only thing you need to help, specially when talking about mythic+! You need a hell of a lot of gear, and for that you need to get your hands on some WoW gold to purchase it. Luckily, there’s easy and safe ways to get it thanks to sites like Playhub.

S-Tier – The Meta Dominators

S-Tier specs are at the top for a reason: they combine exceptional damage or healing with strong survivability and valuable utility. These are the classes you see most frequently in high-level Mythic+ leaderboards.

Augmentation Evoker (DPS Support)

Augmentation Evoker is unlike anything WoW has seen before — a true support DPS. Instead of topping the meters personally, it amplifies the output of the other four party members. This means the group’s overall DPS skyrockets, especially in coordinated high-key pushes. Beyond the damage buffs, Aug Evokers offer strong mobility, powerful defensives, and useful utility spells like Rescue and Time Spiral. The only real drawback is that if the group can’t capitalize on its buffs, its personal damage can feel underwhelming.

Shadow Priest

Shadow Priest thrives in Mythic+ due to its incredible sustained AoE and high single-target burst. While it does require ramp-up time to hit peak damage, once it gets rolling, it’s a monster on large trash pulls and boss fights alike. It also brings Mass Dispel, Power Infusion, and strong off-healing through Vampiric Embrace, making it more than just a damage dealer. Its survivability is also high thanks to Dispersion and self-healing.

Protection Paladin (Tank)

Protection Paladins are a dream for high Mythic+ groups. Their self-healing is unmatched, allowing healers to focus more on the rest of the party. They bring a suite of utility tools like Lay on Hands, Blessing of Freedom, and Blessing of Protection, along with solid AoE threat generation. While they aren’t the most mobile tanks, their combination of durability and utility puts them firmly in the meta spotlight.

A-Tier – Strong and Competitive

A-Tier specs can absolutely thrive in Mythic+, often landing in S-Tier for certain dungeon weeks depending on affix combinations. They’re just a hair behind the absolute best.

Havoc Demon Hunter

Havoc Demon Hunters remain one of the most mobile melee DPS in the game. Their Chaos Brand debuff, which increases magic damage taken by enemies, is a huge boost for many group compositions. They excel at burst AoE with Eye Beam and Blade Dance, and their mobility allows them to avoid mechanics better than most melee. The main weakness is slightly lower single-target damage compared to ranged options in some scenarios.

Restoration Druid (Healer)

Resto Druids continue to be a top choice for Mythic+ healing thanks to their very strong healing over time abilities, unmatched mobility, and excellent crowd control options like Ursol’s Vortex and Entangling Roots. They also bring a Battle Rez and utility with Innervate. Their playstyle allows them to heal on the move, which is invaluable in high keys where mechanics force constant repositioning. The main drawback is that mana can become a limiting factor during prolonged fights with heavy damage.

Fire Mage

Fire Mages shine in Mythic+ thanks to explosive burst damage and high mobility. With Combustion up, they can delete large trash packs, and their crowd control tools like Dragon’s Breath and Polymorph make them excellent for controlling dangerous enemies. They also bring Time Warp for Bloodlust. However, they rely heavily on cooldown windows, and if those aren’t timed well with dungeon pulls, damage can dip.

B-Tier – Solid but Situational

B-Tier specs are absolutely viable, but may require more effort to achieve the same results as A- or S-Tier options. They can be strong in the right player’s hands and with the right group composition.

Arms Warrior

Arms Warriors bring solid cleave damage and group defensive utility with Rallying Cry. Their single-target is respectable, and they have good defensive tools like Die by the Sword. However, they can feel slow and lack the sustained AoE output of top-tier DPS. Mobility can also be a challenge compared to specs like Havoc Demon Hunter.

Holy Priest (Healer)

Holy Priests deliver excellent raw healing throughput and strong single-target saves like Guardian Spirit. They’re one of the simplest healers to play, making them beginner-friendly. However, if you’re looking for good mobility, then practically every other healer has this one beat. Making it hard for them to get to players in need of help.

C-Tier – Playable but Off-Meta

C-Tier doesn’t mean “bad” — it means the spec struggles to compete at the highest level of Mythic+. These classes can still succeed in casual or mid-level keys, but are less common in top-tier runs.

Survival Hunter

Survival Hunter is a fun melee DPS spec with strong burst damage potential, particularly on single-target fights. It has great utility with traps and Misdirection, but lacks the group-wide buffs that other melee DPS bring. In coordinated high-key play, group synergy often pushes it out of the meta in favor of more impactful options.

Blood Death Knight (Tank)

Blood DKs are extremely durable tanks with massive self-healing and great crowd control through Gorefiend’s Grasp. They’re excellent at controlling trash packs and surviving big hits. However, their mobility is lacking, and their damage output is lower compared to top tanks like Protection Paladin or Vengeance Demon Hunter. In dungeons requiring a lot of kiting, this can be a major disadvantage.

Why the Mythic+ Meta Looks Like This

Several key factors shape which classes dominate each season:

  • Affix Rotations – Affixes like Afflicted and Entangling give an edge to classes with strong dispels or mobility.
  • Class Synergy – Specs like Augmentation Evoker amplify group damage, making their presence more valuable than raw numbers alone.
  • Survivability and Utility – Mythic+ isn’t just about DPS meters. Groups need reliable interrupts, stuns, and personal defensives to survive.

Tips for Choosing Your Mythic+ Class

  • Play What You Enjoy – Chasing the meta is fine, but enjoyment leads to mastery, which often matters more than raw tier rankings.
  • Think About Your Group – The best class for you might be one that complements your team’s composition.
  • Watch for Patches – Blizzard’s frequent tuning changes can quickly shuffle the tier list.

Conclusion

We can sit here, and I can recite to you every class that’s a top pick for Mythic+ but at the end of the day the one you should pick is the one you like playing the most. However, it’s not a binary option, it’s more of a Venn diagram where you could pick the one that fills the role your party needs AND you like playing. Besides that — With the right preparation and coordination — even off-meta specs can shine in Mythic+.
