PS Plus Version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Can Upgrade to PS5 Version This Week

December 21st, 2021 / Niraj Shah / News

Final Fantasy VII Remake was given away to all PlayStation Plus subscribers back in March 2021, but this free version wasn’t eligible to upgrade to the PS5 version when it was released in June. However, that’s soon to change this week, as the upgrade will finally be made available.

If you previously redeemed Final Fantasy VII Remake back in March 2021, you’ll be able to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game from Wednesday, 22nd December 2021. In addition, the PS5-exclusive Episode Intermission DLC that stars Yuffie Kisaragi will have a 25% price cut for a limited period.

Starting this Wednesday…

What is as yet unconfirmed is whether the PS5 upgrade will be free, like it was for the regular version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The announcement doesn’t clarify if this is a paid update, and how much it would cost.
