The PS5 will feature a Game Boost Mode similar to that found on the PS4 Pro. The Game Boost Mode will be able to improve the performance of compatible games, for example, faster loading, higher frame rates, higher resolution, and improved graphics.
For example, Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on the PS5 from day one via backwards compatibility. And with Game Boost, the game will have an extra option to boost the frame rates up to 60 FPS.
A similar option is also available in God of War (2018), which will feature a “Favor Performance” option to boost the game to 60 FPS.
Not all games will be able to benefit from Game Boost Mode, and older games will have to be patched manually to take advantage of this new feature.
