PS4 & Its New Games To Resurrect The Gaming Industry

The release of the Playstation 4 is getting closer every day now, and for gaming enthusiasts the big day just can’t come soon enough. We’ve heard by now about all of the specs and capabilities of this rather incredible sounding new console, and for Playstation fans these capabilities are reason enough to be excited. But moving beyond what the specific console will do, here are 3 reasons, specifically related to gaming in general, that we can’t wait to get our hands on the PS4!

First of all, electronic gaming apps can only take us so far. Sure, it’s a blast to be able to download whatever new game is dominating mobile headlines, and to interact with friends the way these games now allow. But with a new console on the horizon we can all remember that gaming apps are meant as little time wasters and short-term entertainments, rather than full-on gaming experiences. Most of us have been so numbed by the constant creation of new apps that the release of a massive new console with games that last for hours (if not days!) should be something of a rebirth!

Second, casino gaming online – arguably the fastest growing single aspect of the video game industry – has finally come about as far as it’s going to come (until the U.S. regulates online gambling in games of chance). If you’re a poker player, you now have dozens of gambling sites to choose from. At the Betfair casino site, you can enjoy more than poker, and immerse yourself in an entire online gambling experience with a variety of games. And of course, there are various niche gambling game sites all over the Internet. For a while, the spread and growth of online gaming in this regard kept millions of avid gamers rapturously engaged in the market – but even this innovative gaming genre is finally rounding into monotony.

Third, and finally, the games we’re expecting to see as soon as the PS4 is released simply look mind-blowing! Just as previously new and innovative gaming genres like electronic apps and casino gambling have gotten a bit stale, so have the same old rehashed games on PS3 and Xbox 360. But with games like “Killzone: Shadow Fall,” “Call Of Duty: Ghosts,” “Driveclub,” and several others set to release with giant worlds, dynamic online multiplayer modes, and brand new capabilities in size, graphics, and gameplay, it seems as if the gaming industry is taking its first major leap (as opposed to small step) forward in many years. For a specific preview ahead, here’s a look at 5 of the most impressive looking games to look forward to:

  1. Call Of Duty: Ghosts – The newest from Treyarch looks like the best in the series.
  2. Killzone: Shadow Fall – A gigantic new interstellar war game to launch the series on PS4.
  3. Driveclub – A unique and original take on racing games, covering the road and culture of racing.
  4. Grand Theft Auto V – Rockstar’s biggest GTA world yet, with a massive slew of new features and experiences.
  5. FIFA 14 – A FIFA game heading into a World Cup year? What could be better for sports fans?
