Sony’s Motion Controller was supposed to be released this Spring, according to Kaz Hirai, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., in his keynote speech at the Tokyo Games Show. In a press release this morning, Sony has delayed the launch of the controller to Autumn 2010.

The motion controller will be released in Japan, Asian regions and countries, North America and Europe/PAL territories together with an extensive line-up of exciting software titles.

“We have decided to release the Motion Controller in fall 2010 when we will be able to offer an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users, ” said Hirai, “We will continue to work to have a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller, not only from [Sony] Worldwide Studios but also from the third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with. We look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expands and defines the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home.”

I just hope this doesn’t turn into another eye toy with a handful of games that support the tech.

Yeah me to.. Considering it has to be used with the eye toy.. Actually when I watched the deom vid I got so excited I went a bought an eye-toy.. Its pretty useless to me untill these controllers come out! But its been said that the new “Resident Evil: Gold Edition” might be compatible with these, Im not sure how that would work to well but we will see what developers come up with I suppose. I just have this awesome image in my head of having a 3D tv, head tracking and one of these controllers in say, a FPS. That would be, amazing!

@TheFreak7 Actually I saw an on-stage demo of resident evil 5 being played with the motion controller months back. Think of it as playing RE4 on the wii, pretty much. Search on google and i’m sure you’ll find the video.

Unless a goog game comes out ill not bother. Gimme a star wars lightsaber game! God knows the wii hasn’t bother for the last 5 years to come up with any good games. Will this be any different or just another expensive gimmick?
