With the recent logo changes to the PlayStation 3, Firmware 3.0 is likely to bring about a change to the boot screen. A video was spotted on YouTube showing the new boot screen already on the pS3 Slim console, sporting the new logo. Currently, the PS3 boot screen says ‘Sony Computer Entertainment’. Only PS3 Slims could have this new boot screen, but it’s difficult to tell at the moment.
You can check out the new boot screen below. We personally prefer the old style boot screen, and hope this only affects the new PS3 Slims.

@DaLi It’s a rumor until Sony officially confirms. We want to know if the new boot screen also affects the old PS3s.
I’d be willing to bet money that this will get applied to Older PS3’s as well.
Look at the PStore at one time it was PLAYSTATION STORE then it became Playstation Store so i’m pretty sure theyd update the boot screen too. Guess we’ll know for sure on the first
