If you missed Sony’s press conference, we have a minute-by-minute summary for you below. Some great announcement were made including several new exclusive games including Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, ModNation Racers, Final Fantasy XIV and more. Sony also showed-off their own version of the Wiimote, only it’s way better and is expected in 2010. Sony has some great things planned for the PlayStation 3 and PSP this year and through out next. BBC Confirms PS3 Slim?

Earlier last month we reported on the leaked photos of the PlayStation 3 slim model spotted on the Internet. Sony was quick to deny the rumors and the even went as far as stating that they “currently has no plans” for a redesign. With the news of the PSP Go! leaked over the weekend, many websites including the BBC have picked up on the story, but with one exception. The BBC has mentioned that the new slimmer PS3 “will not be launched at E3.” The BBC goes further and says “new PS3 model will be out later this year.”

We’ve finished moving the website over from the old CMS. The Wallpaper Gallery is now available to access and we’ve also finished implementing the PSP version of the blog. You will find all our XMB Wallpapers split into categories just as they were on our old website. The PSP version of the blog can be accessed by going to https://www.xtremeps3.com/ on your PSP. The PSP version is a light-weight version of the complete blog – only some features are available.

XTREME PS3 is also accessible using the iPhone, Google Android or Blackberry mobile phones. Once again, only some features are available but now you can check out the latest news and articles on the go with ease. To access the mobile version just go to https://www.xtremeps3.com/ on your device.

  • The number of folder levels that you can view under Photo, Music and Video has been increased.

Game

  • If you select [Internet Search] from the options menu for a game, you can now perform an Internet search based on the name of that game.

Network

  • [Trend Micro™ for PSP™] has been added as an option in the Internet browser.

PlayStation®Network

  • [Information Board] has been added as a feature under PlayStation®Network. The Information Board displays news about games and the latest information about PlayStation®Store.
  • You can now access PlayStation®Store even if you do not have a PlayStation®Network account.
  • An option to sign-in automatically is now available for PlayStation®Store. Set [Sign In Automatically (Auto Sign-In)] on the PlayStation®Store sign-in screen.
  • [Download All] has been added as an option for use when multiple items are purchased from PlayStation®Store.
  • Less free space is now required on Memory Stick Duo™ media when downloading games from PlayStation®Store. Previously, it was necessary to have free space on the Memory Stick Duo equal to twice the size of the game to be downloaded. With system software version 5.50, you can now download games from PlayStation Store to Memory Stick Duo media if there is free space equal to the size of the content to be downloaded.

  • [Title Display] has been added as an option under [Video Settings].
  • [USB Auto Connect] has been added as an option under [System Settings].
  • [Backlight Auto-Adjust] has been added as an option under [Power Save Settings].

PlayStation Network

  • PlayStation Store is now available on the PSP system

Other

  • The default Theme for the PSP system has been redesigned.
  • You can now use a full-size on-screen keyboard.
  • The feature for outputting video from PlayStation format software to a TV has been improved (PSP-2000 only)
