Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has announced the release date and new screenshots from the highly anticipated downloadable game Zombie Apocalypse. Coming to the PlayStation Network on September 24, Zombie Apocalypse drops players in an epic battle between the dead and the living. Equipped with ample artillery, players’ dual analog stick shooting skills will be put to the test in the thrilling arcade style shooter.

A new Command & Conquer title is coming to the PlayStation Network on September 17th 2009: Commander’s Challenge. In Commander’s Challenge you can play as any of our 3 factions: Allies, Soviets, and the Empire of the Rising Sun. There are 50 single player missions to choose from, each focusing on specialized AI personalities and tactics. Once you complete a mission you unlock a specific unit and several additional missions.
As the PlayStation Network is available in many countries with different currencies, it’s natural that the prices of games and other content varies on the PlayStation Store. The games in North America are slightly cheaper than those in Europe and the UK, though this depends on the currency fluctuations. Vivid founder and co-chairman, Steven Hirsch, is keen for Sony to boost adult entertainment industry by making HD movies available worldwide via the PlayStation Network. Hirsch, told MCV that he believed the distribution of porn films on PS3 had “real potential” for the adult entertainment industry. Japanese firm DDM.tv last month revealed that it had launched an HD porn download service for owners of the PS3 – but it is only available in its home territory for the time being.
The PlayStation Network vs. Xbox Live debate has been going on for some time, with fanboys/girls from both camps arguing why one is better than the other. There’s at least one developer out there that believes the PlayStation Network is superior to Xbox Live. United Front Games, the developer of upcoming title ModNation Racers, wants “everyone who buys a copy of the game is able to get online for free and then share all this content.”
Capcom newest fighting game, Fate/Unlimited Codes, is now available to download from the PlayStation Store. It is also the first download only title Capcom have released for the PSP. The game is available from the US PlayStation Store and will be released in Europe next week. Fate/Unlimited Codes is based on the popular, if slightly crazy, Japanese visual novel/anime.
The Lemmings are on the loose with 40 new high-def levels. The processing power of the PlayStation 3 system takes the classic game to a whole new dimension, from detailed environments to richer animation. Danger is only a step away for the little green-haired beings, so it’s up to you to guide them through all-new puzzling levels of digging, climbing, bashing and building.
Battle Tanks, a game based on Combat2600 on the Atari and Battle City on the NES, is coming to the PlayStation Network later this month. Battle Tanks features World War II tanks that face off against each other in hopes to blow the other to smithereens. You can play against the AI or co-op with a friend in Campaign Mode to overcome 50 maze and paint ball-like levels. There’s also a fun multiplayer option also allows two to four people to challenge each other in Death Match modes or Capture the Flag mode.
