Activision and Bungie have announced that Destiny: The Taken King has become the most downloaded video game on day-one in PlayStation history. Unfortunately, no hard numbers were released so it’s difficult to say just how many digital copies were sold. The original Destiny game also broke numerous records last year, but again, no numbers were ever released.
Psyonix has revealed that new DLC will be heading to the game this October. The DLC, titled Revenge of the Battle-Cars, will include more customisations and two classic Battle-Cards from SARPBC. The DLC will be available for €3.99/£3.29 from the PlayStation Store in the next few weeks. Some freebies will also be added to the game, including two new arena variations and more community and country flags.
Sony and Ubisoft have released a 1TB PS4 bundle that will feature a Jet Black console and a physical copy of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. If that’s not enough, the bundle will also include a digital copy of Watch_Dogs for free, and 10 exclusive Penny Dreadful-themed missions in the game, known as the ‘The Dreadful Crimes’.
Square Enix just released an new trailer for Final Fantasy XV at Tokyo Game Show 2015. The trailer is an updated version of the Dawn trailer that was released back in early August 2015 – though why anyone would want to update a trailer is beyond me. Naughty Dog has announced that the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer will occur from December 4th until December 13th. However, to get access you’ll need to own the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection as well have an active PlayStation Plus membership. Details about the actual beta, game modes or maps have not been revealed yet.
Telltale Games has announced that it’s new series, Minecraft: Story Mode, will be coming to the PS4 and PS3 next month. The first episode, titled The Order of the Stone, will be available from the PlayStation Store on October 13th 2015, with the subsequent episodes to follow. A retail version of the game and season pass will also be available with Episode 1 on disc, and future episodes available via online updates.
New content is available on the US PlayStation Store this week, with nine new PS4 games, six new PS3 games and one new PS Vita game added. New content includes Flame Over (PS4), EA Sports NHL 16 (PS4, PS3) and Invokers Tournament (all platforms). You can also find new DLC content and discounts on a number of games across all three consoles.
Sometimes the game you want to play the most is the simplest one. Modern console titles are terrific and there’s no shortage of games with complex, innovative gameplay and jaw-dropping graphics. But less can truly be more, and there are certain types of games that are always fun no matter how they’re played.
Lots of new content is available on the European PlayStation Store this week, with 11 new PS4 games, including Destiny: The Taken King, PES 2016, and Flame Over; eight new PS3 games including the PES 2016 Digital Version and Rugby League Live 3; and one new PS Vita game. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate releases on the PS4 and other platform on October 23rd 2015, but ahead of the game’s release, Ubisoft have announced the first DLC for the game. Titled Jack the Ripper, the DLC will feature feature the killings of famous London murderer Jack The Ripper, and will be free to download for Season Pass holders, and available as individual purchase.
