Following the price increases to the PS5 in April across Europe, the UK and Australia, a similar increase has been announced for the US. The price increase goes into immediate effect as of 21st August 2025, adding $50 to the price of each model.

Due to economic challenges, Sony will be increasing the price of the PS5 Digital Edition in select markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand. As of today, the PS5 Digital Edition will cost £40 more in the UK and €50 more in Europe.

In an unusual move, SCEA has announced that the cost of PlayStation Plus will be going up in North America, starting from 22nd September 2016. In the first major price increase for the service, the cost of PlayStation Plus will go up from $49.99 USD / $49.99 CAD for a 12-month subscription to $59.99 USD/ $69.99 CAD. Prices for 3-month and 1-month subscripts are also affected.
