United Front Games, the developers behind ModNation Racers, are currently working on a patch for the title to bring several improvements requested by gamers. The patch is currently in testing and will be submitted to the PlayStation Store after passing Quality Assurance and approval from Sony.
In our review of ModNation Racers, the biggest letdown for the game was the incredibly long loading times. SCEA has now confirmed that they are aware of the issues and are working on a patch. However, the patch won’t be available until after the game has launched according to Chuck Lacson, SCEA associate marketing manager.
We have recorded more footage of ModNation Racers for you to enjoy below. This time, we’ve taken a look at the Track Studio and have shown how easy it is to create a track and race on it. We also show how to create your own Mod (character) and Kart using the content you unlock in Career mode. Check out the three new videos below.
ModNation Racers has not been released to the public yet, but the game has already received it’s first patch. The patch updates the game to version v1.01 and is 28MB in size. Unfortunately, the changelog for the patch has not been revealed yet so we are unsure of what has changed in the game.
The PS3 version of ModNation Racers, the upcoming kart-racer from United Front Games, will be getting a demo soon. If you didn’t get a chance to join the Beta back in December, this will be your chance to try out the game before release. The demo doesn’t have a confirmed date yet but Chuck Lacson, Associate Product Marketing Manager for SCEA, did let slip that the demo will be available “very soon”.
ModNation Racers is only a few weeks away from release – the game is set for release on May 21th in Europe and North America on May 25th 2010. If you can’t wait that long, we have some footage of the game including the opening sequence, the first race and a look at the ModSpot. ModNation Racers follows on from what LittleBigPlanet started – Play, Create, Share; only with racing. ModNation Racers is all about Race, Create, Share. It’s a fresh take on classic karting games that involves lots of personalization from creating your own very own drivers, karts and even tracks. Qore subscribers and selected gamers in Europe were recently given the change to download the ModNation Racers PSP demo early. If you missed out, you can download the same demo from next week when the demo finally goes public. The full game will be available to purchase on May 25th 2010, but you can get a little taster of the action before then.
