Another week and another round of scheduled maintenance for Destiny 2. Bungie has confirmed that servers will be offline on Tuesday, 3rd October from 4 PM (BST), and lasting until 8 PM (BST). Players will have until 5 PM to complete their online games before being booted off the servers at 5 PM (BST).
Destiny and Destiny 2 will both be offline this afternoon for scheduled maintenance. The downtime will be begin at 3pm BST, and will be completed at 7pm BST today. After the maintenance, Update v1.0.1.3 will be available for download, although no details on the content of the patch have been released.
It’s fair to say that the Destiny 2 launch has been largely successful. Not only has the game taken the top spot in the weekly games chart, Bungie has also revealed that the game reached a massive 1.2 million concurrent players online. Aside from that, Sony has acknowledged that the game isn’t working so well on the PS4 Pro.
Destiny 2 is just a few weeks away from release, and Bungie has dropped the launch trailer for the game. Most of the trailer is cut-scenes from the game, but you do get to see a few bits of actual gameplay footage too. Destiny 2 launches on PS4 and Xbox One on 6th September.
A Limited Edition Destiny 2 DualShock 4 controller has been revealed for Europe, and will be releasing on 6th September. Unfortunately, it won’t be available in the UK, Poland or Russia. Also, new Jet Black PS4 Pro bundle has been revealed along-side the previously announced Glacier White bundle.
Bungie has extended the Destiny 2 for a further day, giving you more time to enjoy the game before it officially releases. The open beta is now scheduled to end at 6 PM PDT on Tuesday, 25th July 2017 in North America, which translates to 2 AM GMT on Wednesday, 26th July 2017.
The first limited edition PS4 Pro bundle has been revealed: the Destiny 2 branded PS4 Pro in Glacier White. The bundle will come with a 1 TB PS4 Pro in Glacier White, with matching DualShock 4 controller, and will be available from 6th September 2017.
Bungie has revealed details about the upcoming Destiny 2 Open Beta, which kicks off later this month. Those that have pre-ordered the game will get access on 18th July 2017, while everyone else will be able to access it from 21st July. The beta let you try out two competitive multiplayer modes and one co-operative mode.
Bungie has released a new trailer for Destiny 2, revealing one of the new enemies you’ll face in the game: Dominus Ghaul. The PlayStation exclusive content has also been revealed, which includes a variety of in-game content. Checkout trailers for both below. Gamers are used to seeing games delayed, but rarely do the release dates ever get pulled forward. However, this is exactly the case for Destiny 2. Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 will now be released two days earlier than first announced.
