At GamesCom in Germany this month Sony will be holding a 3-hour press conference, which we speculate will result in an official announcement of the PS3 Slim. But it could also mean announcements of many other things. New rumors this week suggest that details of Firmware 3.00 will also be announced, though the firmware would not be released on the same day. Sources of PSInsider also speculate an announcement of a new PlayStation Network.
LittleBigPlanet for the PSP is almost here, though it depends on which retailer you trust. Play.com has noted the release date as November 20th 2009 but Amazon has it down for October 30th 2009. Titan Studios have also tweaked some of the point balances and classes based on fan feedback, the new ranking system can be found below. WipEout is classed as a full game but is only available from the PlayStation Network. It is considered to be one of the hardest games out there in terms of earning the Platinum Trophy. This game will easily take you over a 100 hours to earn all the trophies, if you are lucky and skillful – otherwise you can expect to spend a lot longer. There are a total of 51 available to unlock, including trophies from the Fury DLC pack.
The first PlayStation Store update for August is now live.
