It appears that Sony are aiming to release the successor of the PS3 (currently dubbed Orbis) out before Microsoft get their next console out, according to sources. The report, which says that the PS4 has been in design planning stage for about two years, says that Sony are confident “it will have the console at market ahead of the next generation Xbox next Christmas.”

Sony Closes SOCOM 4 Developers Zipper Interactive

Sony have confirmed that developers Zipper Interactive have been closed down. “The closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within SCE WWS,” said a statement from Sony. ”Zipper has completed all work associated with its most recent project, Unit 13 for PlayStation Vita.”
EU PlayStation Plus Preview for April 4th 2012

The content list for April’s PlayStation Plus update has been revealed by SCEE. Next month, you can look forward to two EA games: Shift 2: Unleashed and Shank 2 (also available in the US). The PS one Classic this month is Silent Hill, and you can also find new themes, lots of avatars and an avatar pack from the PS VITA favourite, Escape Plan for you guys too.

PlayMemories Studio Launches Today on PS Store

You may already be aware of PlayMemories and Filmy, two applications available on PlayStation Store that allow you to manage your photos and home-videos respectively, to create slideshows, edit, filter and view what you capture on your HDTV via PS3. Today, Sony are please to announce that PlayMemories Studio will be replacing both the original PlayMemories and Filmy applications.
Battlefield 3 Players will be able to Rent Servers

Battlefield 3 players on the PS3 now have the ability to rent their own dedicated server. Your rules, your friends, your Battlefield. You’ll be able to rent servers for periods of one day (€1.49), seven days (€6.99), 30 days (€24.99), or 90 days (€59.99). Server owners can customise every details of the game, including banning users and giving friends VIP access.
Sony Removes “Everybody’s Tennis” from PlayStation Store

Sony has removed Everybody’s Tennis as well as MotorStorm Arctic Edge from the PlayStation Store after it was discovered that homebrew applications could be loaded onto the PlayStation Vita using an exploit. The homebrew loader, known as VHBL (Vita Half Byte Loader), uses a SAVEDATA exploit with these two games to load other homebrew applications.
