Bayonetta was recently patched to alleviate loading times on the PS3 version of the game. The 135MB patch allows you to install 4.5GB of data to your PS3 hard drive to significantly improve load times significantly and reduce screen tearing as well. It turns out that patch was not created by Sega or Platinum Games, and was instead put together by Sony themselves.
This week on the PlayStation Store, the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves demo is now available to download from the European Store including two other demos. Europe has also received two new downloadable games. The US also has a number of new playable demos and new games to purchase. As for game add-on content, the first Assassin’s Creed II pack is available from both stores as well as the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves skin pack.
Development on Heavy Rain is complete and is off to manufacturing. This psychological thriller will be available at retail on February 23rd, 2010 in North America and February 24th, 2010 in Europe. If you make it through the security door, you will be able to take part in the Heavy Rain: Evidence Analysis mini-game. George Hotz, a iPhone hacker who unlocked Apple’s iPhone, recently discovered a exploit on the PS3. Speaking to the BBC, he said the exploit “gives full memory space access and therefore ring 0 access from OtherOS.” He has since released the exploit on his blog, hoping to ignite the PS3 homebrew scene. The exploit is currently too complicated for just anyone to use it, but it could allow users to play pirated games.

Tomorrow, a new patch will go live allowing PS3 users to install game data to their hard drive, which should dramatically reduce the lengthy load times in the game. The installation of game data will be optional, so those of you running out of space on your console can continue to play the game as is.
With the release of MAG just days away in Europe and the UK, most of you are probably wondering what has changed in the game since the last beta, which took place earlier this month.
