PlayTV is set to get a massive update before the end of the year, as mentioned by Andy House at gamescom last week. The update will be available to all existing and new customers later in the year, and will include enhanced social features, better programme guide and more. This week on the US and Canadian Video Store you can rent The Disappearance of Alice Creed in HD and SD on your PS3 — while it’s still in theaters — and watch it from the comfort of your own home. The gamescom space will be available for two week and features the latest game trailers, multiplayer games and more. This week on the European PlayStation Store you can find lots of new trailers straight from gamescom. You can also find lots of new special offers, a new Minis title and two new playable demos. There is lots of new game add-on content available and you can also find new wallpapers, a Uncharted 2 dynamic theme and more.
Sony Online Entertainment revealed a new trailer for their upcoming PS3 MMO, DC Universe Online. The trailer (found below) reveals some of the over-the-top combat, as well as the powers and movement sets that players can choose from in making themselves the next great legend in the DC Universe – either as its savior or its destroyer.
With the success of Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, Insomniac Games have announced the third title in the series. Insomniac Games announced the third title at the PlayStation press conference at gamescom earlier this week in Cologne, Germany. While not a lot of detail was given away, they did reveal a live-action trailer (see below).
On the US PlayStation Store this week you can find the PSN title Top Gun available for purchase and three new playable demos. There are lots of new game add-on packs available for download including LittleBigPlanet Marvel Costumes and an Uncharted 2 Skin pack. You can also find lots of new game videos and trailers to enjoy.
This fall, two new PS3 models will be available to purchase featuring bigger hard drives. A new 320GB model will include the Sports Champions Move bundle, and a new 160GB system will replace the currentl 120GB slim model. These new higher capacity models will continue to offer the same advanced features and functions of the current models, but with approximately 33 percent more capacity and at compelling price points.
Feast your eyes on a new inFamous 2 trailer straight from GamesCom 2010. It has all the things you could want: new looks of New Marais, monsters, running pedestrians, and an electrified Cole being in the center of it all (who by the way should look a little more familiar. Another new trailer was revealed at gamescom 2010 earlier today, this time showing off some multiplayer action in Killzone 3. Killzone 3’s multiplayer mode adds heaps of new features to the strong fundamentals laid by its predecessor, creating a fresh multiplayer experience that everyone can enjoy.
