Following the price increases to the PS5 in April across Europe, the UK and Australia, a similar increase has been announced for the US. The price increase goes into immediate effect as of 21st August 2025, adding $50 to the price of each model.
The price increase adds $50 to the price of the all the PS5 models, including the PS5 Pro. Notably, the PS5 Digital Edition was $399 when it first launched. This means the Digital Edition has now increase by $100 since it was first launched.
The updated recommended retail price for PlayStation 5 consoles in the U.S. are as follows:
- PlayStation 5 – $549.99
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99
- PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99

Similar to many global businesses, we continue to navigate a challenging economic environment. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to increase the recommended retail price for PlayStation 5 consoles in the U.S. starting on August 21.
