In a seven-second YouTube video, the release date for the highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine game has been revealed. The game is being created by Spider-Man developers, Insomniac and will launch this September.
The game is strictly a narrative-driven, single-player action-adventure game playable entirely offline. Marvel’s Wolverine will officially launch on 15th September 2026 as a PS5 exclusive. You can watch the release date announcement below:
The game will include PS5 Pro enhancements, and a PC port will likely follow a year or two later.
Unlike the more family-friendly Spider-Man titles, Wolverine is leaning heavily into a darker, mature, and visceral tone. The fast-paced combat is built around Logan’s adamantium claws, feral instincts, and signature healing factor, allowing players to unleash his devastating “berserker rage.”
Insomniac is moving away from the sprawling, city-wide open world of their previous games. Instead, Wolverine features a tighter, semi-open world structure that will take you across diverse global locations, including the criminal underworld of Madripoor, the frosted Canadian wilderness, and the narrow streets of Tokyo.
Insomniac has confirmed that Wolverine shares continuity with their Marvel’s Spider-Man games, taking place in the same universe. Logan is voiced by Liam McIntyre (best known for Spartacus). You can also expect to encounter a dynamic cast of iconic X-Men characters, including Mystique, Sabretooth, Omega Red, and enemy factions like the Reavers and Sentinels.
A deeper look at the gameplay is expected during a PlayStation State of Play this Spring.
