First Details on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Revealed

March 20th, 2017 / Niraj Shah / News

Naughty Dog has revealed the first details on the next Uncharted adventure, revealing the setting, characters, length and more. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set six to twelve months after the events of Uncharted 4, and features Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross.

The pair must work together to obtain the priceless Tusk of Ganesha, and features beautiful landscapes from the southern tip of India. Chloe needs somebody with military expertise, and this is where Nadine comes in. And with Shoreline crumbling after Uncharted 4, she’s out of work and desperate.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will have some of the largest environments seen in the series to date – even larger than those from Uncharted 4. And like previous Uncharted games, the levels will be honeycombed with secrets, with new hidden treasures that will reward persistent players who try to traverse everything they can see.

In terms of weapons, the game introduces two new ones: Silenced Pistol and C4. The silenced pistol will be the first stealth weapon in the series (not including multiplayer weapons), and the C4 is directly from it’s popularity in Uncharted 4’s multiplayer mode.

Finally, those expecting Nathan Drake to make an appearance in the game will be disappointed. Naughty Dog entertained the idea, but decided to in the end. “We’re not going to touch on Nathan Drake in this, at all,” says Game Director Kurt Margenau.

The Lost Legacy will be launching later this year as a standalone game, which means you don’t need to own Uncharted 4 to enjoy it. The game itself will be lengthier than The Last of Us: Left Behind, but shorter than Uncharted 4. We don’t know if that means shorter than Uncharted 4’s “Speed Run” play-through.

Preview, PS4, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
